Edgar Alacan is a co-founder at Jets.com, a private jet charter company. Outside of work, Edgar Alacan is a member of the Air Charter Safety Foundation (ACSF), which focuses on optimizing aviation safety and service.

The Air Charter Safety Organization is an American Non-Profit organization created in 2008. The body was set up to promote and lead the advancement of the highest safety standards in aviation. In doing this, the organization shares resources, tools, and information to help the charter, business, and fractional ownership industry offer the world’s safest aviation operations.

The organization has set up programs and frameworks to benefit the aviation industry. One of these is the “Just Culture” framework; This is essentially a system of shared accountability whereby employees can comfortably disclose their honest mistakes without the fear of losing their employment. The essence of the program is to ensure that rather than blaming people, the system instead focuses on identifying risks and system failures.

The organization also has the Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP), which focuses on voluntary, self-identifying, and reporting programs on significant safety concerns. The Industry Audit Standard (IAS) is a program that provides a comprehensive audit system to assure aircraft owners and passengers of their flight safety. Their programs also include the Safety Management System (SMS), a business-like approach to safety risk management.
