NBAA Releases Informative Webinar on Aircraft Cleaning During COVID-19

Based in Lake Como, New Jersey, Edgar Alacan serves as the co-founder and managing director of the private jet company Jets.com. Under Edgar Alacan’s direction, the company has exceeded industry safety standards and operates its own proprietary safety program, “Assure”. Mr. Alcan is also a member of the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA).

Recently, the NBAA released an NBAA News Hour webinar called Best Practices for Cleaning and Disinfecting Business Aircraft in a COVID-19 Environment. As part of a series of webinars the NBAA plans to offer, this webinar responded to common questions related to COVID-19 and the airline industry, and disseminated specific information obtained from federal agencies on how to keep aircraft clean and sanitary during the pandemic.

The webinar noted important points, including the importance of checking to ensure that appropriate cleaning products are used and left on surfaces for the correct amount of time. Attendees were also informed about the use of proper personal protective equipment (PPE), including gloves, goggles, hazmat suits, and N95 masks, when performing cleaning duties. Pilots were advised to use their own headsets for hygiene and to use PPE when flying confirmed or suspected COVID-19 patients.
