For the past decade Edgar Alacan has guided Jets.com, a private jet company that he cofounded in 2008. An active member of the industry, Edgar Alacan belongs to professional organizations such as the Air Charter Safety Foundation (ACSF).

The nation’s leading organization dedicated to the safety and advancement of the personal and business jet industry, the ACSF works to develop safety standards and risk management programs while advocating for industry-friendly policy at the state and federal levels. In addition to offering networking and education events throughout the year, the ACSF offers a range of resources and support for its members, including the Illegal Charter Reporting Hotline.

A hotline dedicated to reporting suspect charter flights, the Illegal Charter Reporting Hotline is one of the many safety tools offered by the ACSF. Any Part 135 on-demand certificate holder is eligible to call the hotline when he or she suspects a charter flight is operating illegally. Examples of illegal charter flights include flights that are being operated for pay or compensation by an operator without a Part 135 certificate.

Previously operated by the National Air Transportation Administration, the ACSF recently took over administration of the hotline. Calls can be made anonymously, and all calls will receive a case number and be forwarded to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for further investigation.
